a typical day
at hometown

6:00 AM – 8:00 AM Morning Arrival of staff, Feeding, and Socializing!

  • Staff arrives and begins preparing for the day ahead.

  • First tasks include ensuring that all dogs are accounted for and checking their overnight accommodations.

  • Dogs enjoy their first outing of the day, typically in small groups or individually, depending on their temperament and needs.

  • Each dog receives their scheduled meal based on their dietary needs.

  • Some dogs may need medications, which are administered with breakfast.

  • Staff members ensure that all food and water bowls are cleaned and replaced, and every dog eats at the designated time.

  • If any dogs are particularly picky or slow eaters, staff may assist them.

  • After meals, it's time for a fun session of play!

  • Dogs are let into designated play areas where they can interact with others (if appropriate for their temperament).

  • The facility has 2 large play yards or indoor areas where dogs can run, fetch, or socialize.

  • Staff supervises to ensure the safety of all dogs, intervening if needed, and ensuring everyone is getting along.

8:00- 9:00 AM  Mid-Morning Walks & Rest Time

  • Dogs are let into kennels for a little morning break while we check in and out new friends for the day!

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM – Enrichment Activities

  • A second round of dog outing in groups or individually depending on their needs.

  • During this time, staff members clean and sanitize the play areas and check on each dog's well-being.

  • Depending on the day, enrichment activities such as puzzle toys, or scent games are introduced, bubbles, crafts, ect. Dogs who are more energetic or need extra stimulation get special attention.

  • Some dogs may be given private one-on-one time with staff, focusing on obedience training, playing fetch, or other activities.

1:00 – 2:00 PM Lunch, Rest & Relaxation Time

  • Some dogs may have a light lunch or snack if required.

  • The facility becomes quieter as many dogs take a nap or rest.

  • Staff checks in on the dogs, making sure they are comfortable, and may clean kennels and prepare for the afternoon activities.

2:00 – 5:00 PM – Afternoon Walks & Play Sessions

  • Dogs are taken out for their afternoon walks and additional socialization or playtime.

  • Active dogs are encouraged to run around, while others may be taken on slower, relaxed walks. (Walks are optional and additionally $15)

  • The staff ensures that every dog is getting attention, and those who need it are kept cool and hydrated, especially in warmer weather.

  • Dogs who are more reserved or prefer solo time are given individual attention.

  • Other dogs can enjoy supervised group play, either indoors or in our secure outdoor area.

5:00 – 6:00 PM – Dinner Time

  • Dogs are let into kennels for a little dinner break while we check in and out new friends for the night!

  • Dogs receive their evening meals, which are served according to each dog’s schedule.

  • Medications, if necessary, are again administered.

  • After dinner, dogs are allowed some time to digest, with bathroom breaks following.

6:00 – 8:00 PM – Last Outdoor Time Settling In for the Night

  • Our final round of playtime occurs, ensuring dogs get one last chance for a bathroom break or a bit of exercise before nightfall.

  • Dogs that require evening potty breaks or additional attention are taken care of during this time.

  • Dogs are given time to wind down for the evening.

  • Staff prepares the dogs' kennels or rooms for the night, ensuring everything is clean and comfortable.

  • Soft lighting and quiet time are encouraged to help the dogs relax.

  • Our facility provides cozy beds, calming music, or even a treat to help dogs settle in for the night.

8:00 PM – Facility Closes for the Day

  • The boarding staff ensures that all dogs are safely tucked in for the night.

  • A final check is made on each dog, ensuring they have enough water, are in a comfortable environment, and are settled.

  • The staff leaves, knowing that the dogs are well cared for and will have another fun, comfortable day tomorrow.

  • Owners live on site and are a hop, skip, and a jump away from dogs. We have made it our highest priority installing proper security cameras and a fire system that immediately alerts the owners if any issues arise.

*These hours are not exact but an approximate of what a typical day at Hometown Looks like* Throughout the day, staff members continuously monitor the dogs for any signs of illness or stress and adjust their care as necessary. Each dog's well-being is the top priority, and the facility is a safe, enjoyable environment for all.
